Job Description Summary

Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator, The lifeguard position is charged with the safeguarding of all patrons that enter the confines of the City of Yukon Aquatic Facilities. Under the direct supervision of management personnel, the lifeguards will be responsible for all safety protocols, procedures, and surveillance of the patrons during the general swim hours, private rentals, aquatics programs, and special events.  This position requires weekend, evening, and holiday work.



  • 16 years of age or older
  • Current lifeguard certification required
  • Ability and willingness to assume responsibility for work performed
  • Ability to demonstrate swimming/lifeguard emergency skills prior to official opening for pool season


  • Experience in providing quality customer service
  • Experience in Lifeguarding.
  • Experience in exercising judgement, tact and diplomacy in dealing with the public.
